Hi Kurt, the public API is going to be a while longer. Currently, Freshbooks and Highrise integration is complete but next up are Basecamp and Harvest. But yeah, I'm taking the time to do these integrations right which means it could take some time :)

Hi Ruben - any new news on the API front?

I've got some customers who'd love to sign up for BidSketch, but they'd need API integrations with some providers that you don't support. They'd prefer to go with BidSketch, but if an API is too far in the future, they may have to break down and go with one of your competitors.

Don't make them do that! ;-)

[...] You’ll be seeing a couple of additional templates soon, and there are still some additional enhancements coming that will enable you to add your own templates in version 2 of Bidsketch. You can find a rough timeline/roadmap in this post. [...]

Excellent point! I actually have discussed this with a couple of users, it's come up a few times already (even in beta). If things go well at around the half year mark I'd like to release a light weight API to enable access to the most important information users might want. Later I can expand on that if the demand is there.

Create the several 'official' integrations (Paypal, Basecamp, etc.) that you will support, as you describe, but don't close off the application for your customers who would rather a different provider. A 3rd party 'plugin' integration, built using your app's published API, may not provide as elegant a solution as a built-in integration -- it may have to run on the desktop in batch mode rather than in real time, for instance -- but it's a better 'story' and will give those customers who need an 'X' system integration a way forward, besides switching to another solution.
